About Parse Server

CVE-2026-116163 affects Parse Server. Before acting, confirm where Parse Server runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: Parse Server before 8.6.102 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.5-alpha.2 contains an authentication bypass because the validateSetUp, validateLogin, and validateUpdate methods of custom adapters subclassing AuthAdapter are never called, and an inherited default that accepts any authData is used instead. Attackers can supply arbitrary authData to sign up, link identities, log in as existing users, or skip custom additional authentication factors.

The weakness class is Improper Authentication. The software does not properly prove who a user is.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it

  • Inventory every instance of Parse Server and record the running version against the affected range above.
  • Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
  • Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
  • Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.

How to fix it

  • Apply the fixed version of Parse Server named in the vendor advisory.
  • If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
  • Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

Open-Emr Openemr

OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. Prior to 8.0.0, an unauthenticated token disclosure vulnerability in the MedEx callback endpoint allows any unauthenticated visitor to obtain the practice's MedEx API tokens, leading to complete third-party service compromise, PHI exfiltration, unauthorized actions on the MedEx platform, and HIPAA violations. The vulnerability exists because the endpoint bypasses authentication ($ignoreAuth = true) and performs a MedEx login whenever $_POST['callback_key'] is provided, returning the full JSON response including sensitive API tokens. This vulnerability is fixed in 8.0.0.
