About Mongodb Laravel Mongodb
CVE-2026-88027 affects Mongodb Laravel Mongodb, a product from Mongodb. Before acting, confirm where Mongodb Laravel Mongodb runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: Improper neutralization of special elements in data query logic in the embedded-document relation handling of the MongoDB integration for Laravel can cause a caller-supplied embedded record identifier to be interpreted as a query condition rather than as a literal identifier. An authenticated user who can influence such an identifier may delete all embedded documents in a targeted record or overwrite an embedded document other than the intended target.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it
- Inventory every instance of Mongodb Laravel Mongodb and record the running version against the affected range above.
- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Mongodb Laravel Mongodb named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.
CTEM action plan
| CTEM stage | What to do for this CVE |
|---|---|
| Scope | Add every business service that depends on Mongodb Laravel Mongodb to the current CTEM cycle. |
| Discover | Find all instances, including shadow and cloud deployments, and record versions and exposure. |
| Prioritize | Rank using EPSS and CVSS together with asset exposure and business impact. |
| Validate | Confirm the flaw is reachable and exploitable in your environment and that compensating controls work. |
| Mobilize | Assign the fix to the asset owner with a due date matched to the priority, then verify closure. |

A use-after-free in the reactive client-side encryption component of the MongoDB Java Driver can cause native resources to be freed while an affected encrypted operation is still using them when the operation is cancelled. A party able to cause such an operation to be cancelled may cause the hosting application process to terminate. Reaching the issue requires an affected reactive encryption configuration that retrieves KMS credentials on demand.
A double free in the OpenSSL-based TLS certificate revocation checking path of the MongoDB C Driver can be reached by a TLS endpoint that the client already trusts. During the handshake, specially formed certificate data can cause the same heap object to be released twice. An unauthenticated party acting as the trusted endpoint may cause the connecting client application to terminate unexpectedly.
An unauthenticated client that can reach a MongoDB Connector for BI deployment configured with Kerberos authentication may cause mongosqld to terminate when a crafted authentication exchange encounters a specific GSSAPI error-handling condition. This can interrupt BI Connector availability until the process restarts.
A use-after-free vulnerability exists in MongoDB Server's server-side JavaScript engine when converting BSON documents to JavaScript arrays. An authenticated user with read privileges who is able to run server-side JavaScript (for example, via $where or $function) can cause the server to access memory that has already been freed. This may result in disclosure of information from the mongod process memory or a denial of service through a server crash.
Computing the MD5 checksum of a malformed BSON object under specific conditions may cause loss of availability in MongoDB server. This issue affects all MongoDB Server v8.2 versions, all MongoDB Server v8.1 versions, MongoDB Server v8.0 versions prior to 8.0.21, MongoDB Server v7.0 versions prior to 7.0.32
Complex queries can cause excessive memory usage in MongoDB Query Planner resulting in an Out-Of-Memory Crash.
