About the affected product

CVE-2026-86723 affects the affected product. Before acting, confirm where the affected product runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: AVideo through c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in LoginControl::verifyChallenge() that uses loose comparison (==) instead of strict comparison (===) against unset session values. Attackers with only a password can submit an empty request to verifyChallenge.json.php to bypass PGP two-factor authentication and gain full authenticated access.

The weakness class is Improper Authentication. The software does not properly prove who a user is.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.
