About Jahlives Openssl Encrypt
CVE-2026-74882 affects Jahlives Openssl Encrypt, a product from Jahlives. Before acting, confirm where Jahlives Openssl Encrypt runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.0 contain an insecure default configuration that trusts the entire RFC 1918 private address space in IntegrityProxyConfig trusted_proxies. Attackers on private networks can forge client certificate headers to bypass mTLS authentication when ProxyAuth validation is relaxed or modified.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it
- Inventory every instance of Jahlives Openssl Encrypt and record the running version against the affected range above.
- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Jahlives Openssl Encrypt named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

|---|---|
| Scope | Add every business service that depends on Jahlives Openssl Encrypt to the current CTEM cycle. |
| Discover | Find all instances, including shadow and cloud deployments, and record versions and exposure. |
| Prioritize | Rank using EPSS and CVSS together with asset exposure and business impact. |
| Validate | Confirm the flaw is reachable and exploitable in your environment and that compensating controls work. |
| Mobilize | Assign the fix to the asset owner with a due date matched to the priority, then verify closure. |

openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.9 contain a shell injection vulnerability in the info command's reconstructed CLI block that interpolates untrusted metadata fields without quoting. Attackers can craft metadata values like pepper_name containing shell commands that execute when users copy the printed CLI block into a shell.
openssl_encrypt versions before 1.4.0 configure CORS with allow_origins set to wildcard and allow_credentials enabled to true. Attackers can create malicious websites that make authenticated cross-origin requests to the API on behalf of any user who visits them.
Insufficient verification of data authenticity in Azure Billing allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted was found to be affected by an unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability due to the insufficient integrity checks. Installations configured in a non-default and non-secure configuration are affected.
The /v1/Plan service relies entirely on a shared global API token for full administrative management, allowing arbitrary creation of zero-cost network access plans.
Rack::Session is a session management implementation for Rack. From 2.0.0 to before 2.1.2, Rack::Session::Cookie incorrectly handles decryption failures when configured with secrets:. If cookie decryption fails, the implementation falls back to a default decoder instead of rejecting the cookie. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to supply a crafted session cookie that is accepted as valid session data without knowledge of any configured secret. Because this mechanism is used to load session state, an attacker can manipulate session contents and potentially gain unauthorized access. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.2.
