About Bitwarden Server
CVE-2026-60104 affects Bitwarden Server, a product from Bitwarden. Before acting, confirm where Bitwarden Server runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: Bitwarden Server before 2026.6.0 does not verify that the email in a POST /auth-requests/admin-request body belongs to the authenticated caller, allowing a low-privileged organization member to obtain another user's vault key and a victim-scoped access token by creating a Trusted Device Encryption authentication request, bound to an attacker-controlled public key, that is readable from an unauthenticated endpoint once approved resulting in disclosure of the victim's vault key and account takeover.
The weakness class is Insecure Direct Object Reference. Changing an ID in a request exposes another user's data.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and relies on a user taking an action. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it
- Inventory every instance of Bitwarden Server and record the running version against the affected range above.
- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Bitwarden Server named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.
CTEM action plan
| CTEM stage | What to do for this CVE |
|---|---|
| Scope | Add every business service that depends on Bitwarden Server to the current CTEM cycle. |
| Discover | Find all instances, including shadow and cloud deployments, and record versions and exposure. |
| Prioritize | Rank using EPSS and CVSS together with asset exposure and business impact. |
| Validate | Confirm the flaw is reachable and exploitable in your environment and that compensating controls work. |
| Mobilize | Assign the fix to the asset owner with a due date matched to the priority, then verify closure. |

Bitwarden Server prior to v2026.4.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows a provider service user to add an arbitrary organization to their provider via `POST /providers/{providerId}/clients/existing`, resulting in takeover of the target organization; self-hosted installations are unaffected as this endpoint is restricted to Cloud via SelfHosted(NotSelfHostedOnly = true).
Bitwarden CLI 2026.4.0 from 2026-04-22T21:57Z to 2026-04-22T23:30Z, when obtained from npm, had embedded malicious code. This is related to a Checkmarx supply chain incident.
Cal.com is open-source scheduling software. From 3.1.6 to before 6.0.7, there is a vulnerability in a custom NextAuth JWT callback that allows attackers to gain full authenticated access to any user's account by supplying a target email address via session.update(). This vulnerability is fixed in 6.0.7.
n8n-MCP is an MCP server that provides AI assistants access to n8n node documentation, properties, and operations. Prior to 2.56.1, in HTTP mode with multi-tenancy enabled through ENABLE_MULTI_TENANT=true, n8n-mcp's local workflow version history backups were not isolated per tenant, allowing an authenticated tenant to read workflow version snapshots belonging to other tenants and delete or destroy other tenants' stored backups, including full node definitions, credential references, and authorization headers. This issue is fixed in version 2.56.1.
A flaw was found in migration-planner. The agent-API middleware processes JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) for authentication, but its UpdateSourceInventory and UpdateAgentStatus handlers fail to validate the source_id claim within these tokens against the requested source ID. This oversight allows an authenticated attacker with a valid agent token to manipulate data across different tenants, leading to a complete collapse of tenant isolation. This could result in unauthorized overwriting of victim inventory, planting of malicious credential URLs, or corruption of migration assessments.
A flaw was found in migration-planner. An authenticated attacker could exploit an improper access control vulnerability in the `/api/v1/sources/{id}/image-url` endpoint. This flaw allows the attacker to bypass an ownership check and obtain presigned S3 URLs for Open Virtual Appliance (OVA) images belonging to other users. Consequently, the attacker can download OVA images containing sensitive information, such as long-lived agent JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) and source configurations, potentially leading to unauthorized access and modification of the victim's source.
