About Ni Instrumentstudio

CVE-2026-48137 affects Ni Instrumentstudio, a product from Ni. Before acting, confirm where Ni Instrumentstudio runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: There is an untrusted pointer dereference vulnerability in the NI grpc-device sideband streaming API that may allow an attacker to cause an arbitrary memory dereference, potentially resulting in remote code execution.  Successful exploitation requires an attacker  to supply a specially crafted Moniker protobuf message.  This affects NI grpc-device 2.17.0 and prior versions.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.
