About Gitroom Postiz

CVE-2026-42298 affects Gitroom Postiz, a product from Gitroom. Before acting, confirm where Gitroom Postiz runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: Postiz is an AI social media scheduling tool. Prior to commit da44801, a "Pwn Request" vulnerability in the Build and Publish PR Docker Image workflow (.github/workflows/pr-docker-build.yml) allows any unauthenticated user to execute arbitrary code during the Docker build process and exfiltrate a highly privileged GITHUB_TOKEN (write-all permissions). This can be achieved simply by opening a Pull Request from a fork with a maliciously modified Dockerfile.dev. This issue has been patched via commit da44801.

The weakness class is Code Injection. Attacker input is executed as program code.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

  • Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
  • Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
  • Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.

How to fix it

  • Apply the fixed version of Gitroom Postiz named in the vendor advisory.
  • If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
  • Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

CVE-2026-42556
Gitroom Postiz

Postiz is an AI social media scheduling tool. From version 2.21.6 to before version 2.21.7, any authenticated user who can create a post can store arbitrary HTML in post content by tampering their own save request and send the public preview link /p/<postId>?share=true to another user. The preview page renders that stored HTML with dangerouslySetInnerHTML on the main application origin. This issue has been patched in version 2.21.7.

HIGH8.9
CVE-2026-40487
Gitroom Postiz

Postiz is an AI social media scheduling tool. Prior to version 2.21.6, a file upload validation bypass allows any authenticated user to upload arbitrary HTML, SVG, or other executable file types to the server by spoofing the `Content-Type` header. The uploaded files are then served by nginx with a Content-Type derived from their original extension (`text/html`, `image/svg+xml`), enabling Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in the context of the application's origin. This can lead to session riding, account takeover, and full compromise of other users' accounts. Version 2.21.6 contains a fix.

CVE-2026-34576
Gitroom Postiz

Postiz is an AI social media scheduling tool. Prior to version 2.21.3, the POST /public/v1/upload-from-url endpoint accepts a user-supplied URL and fetches it server-side using axios.get() with no SSRF protections. The only validation is a file extension check (.png, .jpg, etc.) which is trivially bypassed by appending an image extension to any URL path. An authenticated API user can fetch internal network resources, cloud instance metadata, and other internal services, with the response data uploaded to storage and returned to the attacker. This issue has been patched in version 2.21.3.

CVE-2026-24897
Erugo

Erugo is a self-hosted file-sharing platform. In versions up to and including 0.2.14, an authenticated low-privileged user can upload arbitrary files to any specified location due to insufficient validation of user‑supplied paths when creating shares. By specifying a writable path within the public web root, an attacker can upload and execute arbitrary code on the server, resulting in remote code execution (RCE). This vulnerability allows a low-privileged user to fully compromise the affected Erugo instance. Version 0.2.15 fixes the issue.
