About Craigjbass Clearancekit
CVE-2026-33632 affects Craigjbass Clearancekit, a product from Craigjbass. Before acting, confirm where Craigjbass Clearancekit runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: ClearanceKit intercepts file-system access events on macOS and enforces per-process access policies. Prior to version 4.2.4, two file operation event types — ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_EXCHANGEDATA and ES_EVENT_TYPE_AUTH_CLONE — were not intercepted by ClearanceKit's opfilter system extension, allowing local processes to bypass file access policies. Commit 6181c4a patches the vulnerability by subscribing to both event types and routing them through the existing policy evaluator. Users must upgrade to v4.2.4 or later and reactivate the system extension.
The weakness class is Missing Authorization. The software does not check permissions before an action.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw needs local or adjacent access, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it
- Inventory every instance of Craigjbass Clearancekit and record the running version against the affected range above.
- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Craigjbass Clearancekit named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

| CTEM stage | What to do for this CVE |
|---|---|
| Scope | Add every business service that depends on Craigjbass Clearancekit to the current CTEM cycle. |
| Discover | Find all instances, including shadow and cloud deployments, and record versions and exposure. |
| Prioritize | Rank using EPSS and CVSS together with asset exposure and business impact. |
| Validate | Confirm the flaw is reachable and exploitable in your environment and that compensating controls work. |
| Mobilize | Assign the fix to the asset owner with a due date matched to the priority, then verify closure. |

ClearanceKit intercepts file-system access events on macOS and enforces per-process access policies. Prior to 5.0.5, ClearanceKit incorrectly treats a process with an empty Team ID and a non-empty Signing ID as an Apple platform binary. This bug allows a malicious software to impersonate an apple process in the global allowlist, and access all protected files. This vulnerability is fixed in 5.0.5.
In Telecomm, there is a possible way to initiate an unauthorized phone call due to a permissions bypass. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
A validation issue existed in the entitlement verification. This issue was addressed with improved validation of the process entitlement. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27, macOS Sequoia 15.8, macOS Tahoe 26.7. A malicious app may be able to break out of its sandbox.
Missing authorization in Azure DNS allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
In NFC, there is a possible way to spoof an NFC event due to a missing permission check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
In SettingsLib, there is a possible missing permission check due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
