About B3log Siyuan

CVE-2026-30869 affects B3log Siyuan, a product from B3log. Before acting, confirm where B3log Siyuan runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.5.10, a path traversal vulnerability in the /export endpoint allows an attacker to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem. By exploiting double‑encoded traversal sequences, an attacker can access sensitive files such as conf/conf.json, which contains secrets including the API token, cookie signing key, and workspace access authentication code. Leaking these secrets may enable administrative access to the SiYuan kernel API, and in certain deployment scenarios could potentially be chained into remote code execution (RCE). This vulnerability is fixed in 3.5.10.

The weakness class is Path Traversal. An attacker can reach files outside the intended folder by tampering with a file path.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it

  • Inventory every instance of B3log Siyuan and record the running version against the affected range above.
  • Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
  • Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
  • Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.

How to fix it

  • Apply the fixed version of B3log Siyuan named in the vendor advisory.
  • If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
  • Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

CVE-2026-39846
B3log Siyuan

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.4, a malicious note synced to another user can trigger remote code execution in the SiYuan Electron desktop client. The root cause is that table caption content is stored without safe escaping and later unescaped into rendered HTML, creating a stored XSS sink. Because the desktop renderer runs with nodeIntegration enabled and contextIsolation disabled, attacker-controlled JavaScript executes with access to Node.js APIs. In practice, an attacker can import a crafted note into a synced workspace, wait for the victim to sync, and achieve code execution when the victim opens the note. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.4.

CVE-2026-34585
B3log Siyuan

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.6.2, a vulnerability allows crafted block attribute values to bypass server-side attribute escaping when an HTML entity is mixed with raw special characters. An attacker can embed a malicious IAL value inside a .sy document, package it as a .sy.zip, and have the victim import it through the normal Import -> SiYuan .sy.zip workflow. Once the note is opened, the malicious attribute breaks out of its original HTML context and injects an event handler, resulting in stored XSS. In the Electron desktop client, this XSS reaches remote code execution because injected JavaScript runs with access to Node/Electron APIs. This issue has been patched in version 3.6.2.

CVE-2026-32749
B3log Siyuan

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, POST /api/import/importSY and POST /api/import/importZipMd write uploaded archives to a path derived from the multipart filename field without sanitization, allowing an admin to write files to arbitrary locations outside the temp directory - including system paths that enable RCE. This can lead to aata destruction by overwriting workspace or application files, and for Docker containers running as root (common default), this grants full container compromise. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.

CVE-2026-25539
B3log Siyuan

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.5.5, the /api/file/copyFile endpoint does not validate the dest parameter, allowing authenticated users to write files to arbitrary locations on the filesystem. This can lead to Remote Code Execution (RCE) by writing to sensitive locations such as cron jobs, SSH authorized_keys, or shell configuration files. This issue has been patched in version 3.5.5.
