About Opendcim
CVE-2026-28515 affects Opendcim, a product from Opendcim. Before acting, confirm where Opendcim runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: openDCIM version 23.04, through commit 4467e9c4, contains a missing authorization vulnerability in install.php and container-install.php. The installer and upgrade handler expose LDAP configuration functionality without enforcing application role checks. Any authenticated user can access this functionality regardless of assigned privileges. In deployments where REMOTE_USER is set without authentication enforcement, the endpoint may be accessible without credentials. This allows unauthorized modification of application configuration.
The weakness class is Missing Authorization. The software does not check permissions before an action.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

How to detect it
- Inventory every instance of Opendcim and record the running version against the affected range above.
- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Opendcim named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.
CTEM action plan
| CTEM stage | What to do for this CVE |
|---|---|
| Scope | Add every business service that depends on Opendcim to the current CTEM cycle. |
| Discover | Find all instances, including shadow and cloud deployments, and record versions and exposure. |
| Prioritize | Rank using EPSS and CVSS together with asset exposure and business impact. |
| Validate | Confirm the flaw is reachable and exploitable in your environment and that compensating controls work. |
| Mobilize | Assign the fix to the asset owner with a due date matched to the priority, then verify closure. |

openDCIM version 23.04, through commit 4467e9c4, contains an OS command injection vulnerability in report_network_map.php. The application retrieves the 'dot' configuration parameter from the database and passes it directly to exec() without validation or sanitization. If an attacker can modify the fac_Config.dot value, arbitrary commands may be executed in the context of the web server process.
openDCIM version 23.04, through commit 4467e9c4, contains a SQL injection vulnerability in Config::UpdateParameter. The install.php and container-install.php handlers pass user-supplied input directly into SQL statements using string interpolation without prepared statements or proper input sanitation. An authenticated user can execute arbitrary SQL statements against the underlying database.

A validation issue existed in the entitlement verification. This issue was addressed with improved validation of the process entitlement. This issue is fixed in macOS Golden Gate 27, macOS Sequoia 15.8, macOS Tahoe 26.7. A malicious app may be able to break out of its sandbox.
Missing authorization in Azure DNS allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
