About Redhat Build Of Keycloak

CVE-2026-16443 affects Redhat Build Of Keycloak, a product from Redhat. Before acting, confirm where Redhat Build Of Keycloak runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: A flaw was found in the SAML metadata import functionality of the keycloak-services component, which is the core engine for identity brokering in Red Hat Build of Keycloak. When importing identity provider metadata that lacks specific usage attributes for keys, the system incorrectly disables signature validation for SAML responses even if a signing certificate is provided. This issue allows an unauthenticated attacker to forge a SAML response and gain unauthorized access to a user account by knowing their external identifier.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

  • Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
  • Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
  • Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.

How to fix it

  • Apply the fixed version of Redhat Build Of Keycloak named in the vendor advisory.
  • If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
  • Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.

CVE-2026-16442
Redhat Build Of Keycloak

A flaw was found in the SAML broker component of Keycloak, which is used to manage identity federation and user authentication. The issue occurs because the IdP-initiated Single Sign-On endpoint fails to check if a provider is restricted to account linking only. This allows an attacker with control over a linked upstream identity to bypass login restrictions and gain full access to a local user account.

A heap-buffer-overflow vulnerability exists in the APNG (Animated PNG) file loader of GIMP. Additionally, a heap-based buffer overflow exists in the DDS plug-in due to a BPP mismatch in the `load_layer()` function. Both vulnerabilities can be triggered by opening a specially crafted image file, potentially leading to code execution.

CVE-2026-1609
Redhat Build Of Keycloak

A flaw was found in Keycloak. When the JSON Web Token (JWT) authorization grant preview feature is enabled and a user account is disabled, Keycloak fails to validate the user’s disabled status during JWT authorization grant processing. A remote attacker with low privileges can exploit this improper access control vulnerability by presenting a valid assertion token from an external identity provider to obtain a JWT for a disabled user. This allows unauthorized access to sensitive resources.
