About Syncplify Server!

CVE-2026-112343 affects Syncplify Server!. Before acting, confirm where Syncplify Server! runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: Syncplify Server! before 8.8.0 contains an access control bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated SFTP users to evade per-path permission overrides by exploiting case-insensitive filesystem path resolution and 8.3 short names. Attackers can address a protected directory using alternate capitalization or its 8.3 short name to perform file uploads and downloads that the configured override is intended to deny, resulting in unauthorized file access.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.
