About the affected product

CVE-2026-110623 affects the affected product. Before acting, confirm where the affected product runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: Papermerge Core through 3.5.3 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the shared nodes API that allows authenticated users to share other users' documents by supplying arbitrary node UUIDs. Attackers can call POST /shared-nodes or PATCH /shared-nodes/access/{node_id} to grant themselves any role, then read, modify, or delete victims' documents and revoke existing shares.

The weakness class is Missing Authorization. The software does not check permissions before an action.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.
