About Paloaltonetworks Pan-Os

CVE-2026-0264 affects Paloaltonetworks Pan-Os, a product from Paloaltonetworks. Before acting, confirm where Paloaltonetworks Pan-Os runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.

What the flaw is

In plain terms: A buffer overflow vulnerability in the DNS proxy and DNS Server features of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS® Software allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition (all PAN-OS platforms except Cloud NGFW and Prisma Access) or potentially execute arbitrary code by sending specially crafted network traffic (PA-Series hardware only). Panorama, Cloud NGFW, and Prisma® Access are not impacted by this vulnerability.

The weakness class is Heap Buffer Overflow. A write past the end of a heap buffer corrupts nearby memory.

Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs no login, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.
