About Basercms
CVE-2025-32957 affects Basercms, a product from Basercms. Before acting, confirm where Basercms runs in your estate, who owns it and whether it is reachable from the internet, because exposure decides real risk more than the score alone.
What the flaw is
In plain terms: baserCMS is a website development framework. Prior to version 5.2.3, the application's restore function allows users to upload a .zip file, which is then automatically extracted. A PHP file inside the archive is included using require_once without validating or restricting the filename. An attacker can craft a malicious PHP file within the zip and achieve arbitrary code execution when it is included. This issue has been patched in version 5.2.3.
The weakness class is Unrestricted File Upload. Dangerous file types, such as scripts, can be uploaded and run.
Based on its CVSS vector, the flaw can be reached over the network, needs some level of access, and needs no user interaction. Apply the vendor fix and confirm exposure on internet facing and business critical assets first.

- Check external attack surface scans for internet facing instances of the component.
- Review logs on affected systems for unusual requests, errors or new processes around the vulnerable function.
- Confirm with an authenticated vulnerability scan once your scanner has a check for this CVE.
How to fix it
- Apply the fixed version of Basercms named in the vendor advisory.
- If patching must wait, restrict network access to the affected service and put it behind authentication or a web application firewall rule.
- Rescan after the change to prove the exposure is gone, then close the ticket.
